NEBOSH Environmental Awareness at Work
The NEBOSH is a globally recognized qualification offered by an established independent UK examination board with over 30 years experience in providing health and safety awards in the UK and across the world including the Middle East, the West Indies and Southeast Asia.
This introductory qualification will help improve the safety culture in your organisation, by equipping your workforce to identify and deal with hazards at work helping to reduce accidents and achieving cost saving for the business. The qualification is designed to meet the needs of an international audience. There is no content on UK Law.
This qualification is an ideal first step towards other higher level NEBOSH qualifications including NEBOSH International General Certificate.
This intriductory qualification is aimed at anyone who needs a basic understanding of environmental issues in the workplace. It provides a general awareness of environmental issues and can be taken by employees at all levels within the organisation. The NEBOSH award in Environmental Management provides a step for those who wish to progress to higher level qualifications, such as the NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management.The award in Environmental Awareness syllabus is suitable for both UK and international candidates; there is no legislation included in the syllabus. The syllabus includes basic information on:
- Environmental terms and their meaning.
- Sources, impacts and controls of air, water, noise and land pollution.
- Dealing with environmental emergencies.
- Introducing environmental emergencies.
- Introduction to Environmental Management Systems.
NEBOSH Environmental Awareness at Work has been accredited and credit rated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
This qualification will benefit organisations who are seeking to implement an EMS. It will provide their workforce with an awareness of the organisation’s impacts on the environment as well as the individual’s role in the maintenance of a successful EMS.This course can be delivered within an organisation, eg, in-house training, or employees can attend accredited training courses run throughout the UK by our network of accredited course providers. NEBOSH accredited course providers offer a variety of flexible course formats, so training can be arranged according to business needs.
Entry Requirement
This qualification does not have any formal entry requirement.
Any one who needs to understand the basic principles of environment as part of their job.
The candidate undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an IELTS score of 5.0 or higher.
There are 2 elements in EAW which covers as follows:
- Foundations of environmental awareness.
- Pollution, impact assessments and emergencies.
The Unit EAW is assessed by 30 minutes multiple choice exam. Candidate scripts are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.
Certification
Delegates are awarded the Certificate on successful completion of unit EAW.
